An unfinished musical toy, made for Ludum Dare 52.

The original intention was to create a fully-fledged card game with crafting mechanics and factory automation, a bit like Slay the Spire meets Factorio or Timbertown. Unfortunately, that original scope proved to be too ambitious for me, so near the last minute I pivoted into a musical toy.

Place nodes in the graph to play notes when they get a pulse. Much like any wiring network graph diagram.

Toggle buttons on the nodes to adjust pitch and tempo.

See if you can make ANY money.

Future plans:

  • Add a dozen more cards, including synergies, accelerators and random events
  • Refine the playing surface.
  • Fine-tune, polish and detail.

If you think the bones are interesting, let me know how you would like to see it improved.

The game was developed solo, in Godot 3.5.2, with Inkscape, Audacity, Gimp.

Code is available at https://github.com/plexsoup/HarvestHustle

A note about AI utilization: I used Stable Diffusion to create most of the card image. Sprites and icons I made myself in Inkscape. Most of the code was developed from scratch without aid, but I used VSCode with GitHub copilot occasionally. ChatGPT stepped in to assist with musical theory.

I've heard that some web browsers have trouble playing Godot games, so if you run into problems, trying another browser might solve them.
